The Anti Group (T.A.G.C.) is an experimental multimedia collective founded in the early 1980s by Adi Newton, who also co-founded Clock DVA in 1978 in Sheffield. Newton was briefly a member of The Future, which later became The Human League. T.A.G.C. was conceived as an open-membership research project exploring psychoacoustics, ambisonics, visual art, and performance.
After Clock DVA’s 1983 breakup, Newton focused on T.A.G.C., staging performances and releasing several albums of frequency-based experimental work. Clock DVA was reactivated in 1987, but T.A.G.C. has continued as Newton’s primary experimental vehicle.
