Plus Instruments is a Dutch experimental project established in 1978 in Eindhoven by Truus de Groot, often called the „Queen of the Dutch Underground.“ Emerging from the punk explosion, the project evolved toward experimental and industrial music with largely improvised live performances. De Groot collaborated with artists including Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, James Sclavunos, and Michel Waisvisz.
The cult release Februari – April ’81, recorded in New York, connected the project to the American No Wave scene. Plus Instruments has remained active across four decades.
