This collaboration pairs two formidable figures of the underground. Lydia Lunch, born 1959 in Rochester, New York, was a founding member of the no wave movement through Teenage Jesus and the Jerks and has since built a prolific career in music, spoken word, and film. Marc Hurtado co-founded the French experimental duo Etant Donnes with his brother Eric in 1977 and has collaborated with Alan Vega, Michael Gira, and Genesis P-Orridge.
Since 2019, Lunch and Hurtado have performed the music of Suicide and Alan Vega together, documented on the album Metempsychosis.
