About

Etant Donnes is a French experimental duo founded in 1977 by brothers Eric and Marc Hurtado, born in Morocco. Named after Marcel Duchamp’s last major work, their practice spans musique concrete, field recording, performance art, and experimental film. Their debut recording La Vue dates to 1979, and their body of work exceeds 30 albums.

Notable collaborators include Lydia Lunch, Michael Gira, Alan Vega, and Genesis P-Orridge. Key releases include L’Etoile au Front (1982), Bleu (1994), and Re-Up (1999). Their sound combines field recordings, found sounds, and intense vocal delivery.
